St. Lucie Tropical Jazz is an exciting Latin Jazz Big Band from St. Lucie County, Florida. Our focus is to blend the joyful, grooving Latin styles and musical traditions with the richness of jazz harmonies, to forge a vibrant sound that just sizzles.
St. Lucie Tropical Jazz is committed to advancing the performance and educational aspects of the large and unique repertoire of this art form involving Latin rhythms, clave, and African-based percussion instruments, as well as modern jazz.

The Latin music we play in the band surely hits my musical sweet spot. I find the arrangements inspiring. They are populated with tightly synched, beefy horn charts and sturdy Latin rhythms.
The music sparks all your senses and certainly keep you on your toes. These tasty tunes pull out all the stops giving you everything you could ask for in mainstream Cuban/Latin jazz.
This band has captured the true essence of what Afro Cuban music is all about. The vigorous phrasings and brilliant improvisations of the musicians exude the happiness which can only be associated with a musical heaven.
We come together to create music that will assist us in our effort to advance both the performance and educational aspects of this important and unique cultural treasure. With the support of our talented jazz and Latin musical leaders, we work towards the common goal of developing new audiences for big band Latin jazz and passing on the skills to the next generation.
St. Lucie Tropical Jazz performs several concerts each year at the Civic Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida and tours around the South Florida region for private event, master classes, festivals and concerts.
